How to Mine Kerrigan
Kerrigan is multi-algorithm, so a wide range of hardware can mine it. Read Step 1 first — one algorithm has a Kerrigan-specific quirk that will silently waste your time if you skip it.
You'll need a miner for your chosen algorithm, the right hardware (below), and a KRGN address for payouts.
Step 1 — Choose your algorithm
Two of Kerrigan's algorithms are ASIC, two are GPU. Mine the one that matches the hardware you have.
| Algorithm | Type | Recommended hardware |
|---|---|---|
| X11 | ASIC | Bitmain Antminer D9 — or D7, Spondoolies SPx36 |
| Equihash 200,9 | ASIC | Bitmain Antminer Z15 Pro — or Z15, Innosilicon A9++ |
| KawPoW | GPU | Nvidia RTX 4090 — or RTX 4080 SUPER, AMD RX 7900 XTX |
| Equihash 192,7 | GPU | Nvidia RTX 4090 — or RTX 4080 SUPER, AMD RX 7900 XTX |
A GPU can technically hash X11 and Equihash 200,9, but an ASIC is thousands of times faster per watt on those, so a GPU won't be competitive. Have GPUs? Mine KawPoW or Equihash 192,7. Have an ASIC? Mine X11 or Equihash 200,9.

Equihash 192,7 — GPU (Sol/s):
| Model | Hashrate | Power |
|---|---|---|
| Nvidia RTX 4090 (king) | 95.0 Sol/s | 350 W |
| Nvidia RTX 4080 SUPER | 82.0 Sol/s | 320 W |
| Nvidia RTX 3090 | 72.0 Sol/s | 335 W |
| Nvidia RTX 3080 Ti | 70.0 Sol/s | 349 W |
| AMD RX 7900 XTX | 62.0 Sol/s | 355 W |
⚠ Equihash 192,7 uses a custom personalization string (
kerrigan). A stock miner set for generic Equihash 192,7 won't mine Kerrigan; it just produces rejected shares. Fix: use miniZ with--pers kerrigan. (Equihash 200,9 uses the standard personalization, so any miner works on it out of the box — the friction-free option if you don't need 192,7.)
Step 2 — Get your pool's connection details
Point your miner at a Kerrigan pool. You need its host and the port for your algorithm:
Host: <POOL_HOST>
Port: <ALGO_PORT> (per algorithm)
Username: <your K... address>
Password: x
Step 3 — Configure and start
Adjust the program, host, and port to your pool and hardware.
Equihash 200,9 (standard — any Equihash miner):
miniZ --par=200,9 --server <POOL_HOST> --port <ALGO_PORT> --user <your-K-address> --pass x
Equihash 192,7 (note --pers kerrigan; without it you'll only get rejects):
miniZ --par=192,7 --pers kerrigan --server <POOL_HOST> --port <ALGO_PORT> --user <your-K-address> --pass x
KawPoW (GMiner, T-Rex, etc.):
gminer --algo kawpow --server <POOL_HOST> --port <ALGO_PORT> --user <your-K-address> --pass x
Watch for accepted shares. Nothing but rejects means the wrong algorithm or, on 192,7, the missing
--pers kerrigan (Step 1).
Step 4 — Check your rewards
Payouts go to the address you set as the username. Watch it in the explorer, or in your wallet once it's synced.
